The Painters Captivate International Visitors Through the ‘Korea in Motion’ Campaign
Updated: 1 day ago
The Painters, Korea’s non-verbal live drawing performance, has been selected as part of ‘Korea in Motion,’ a campaign by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization that invites international visitors to experience Korean performing arts.

With record numbers of tourists coming to Korea, live performances are quickly becoming a must-do travel experience. The Painters stands out by telling its story entirely through movement, sound, and art. No words are needed, so audiences from any country can enjoy the show from start to finish.

This time, the experience went beyond the stage. After the show, international guests joined the performers for a marbling art session, swirling colorful paint across water and printing the patterns onto eco-bags to create their own one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
Visitors from Russia shared that the show was easy to follow without knowing Korean, since the performers communicated through gestures and drawings. They added that recreating what they had just seen on stage with their own hands made the experience even more memorable.
Producer Jeong Gyu-cheol said the happy, satisfied faces he sees during the post-show photo time are the best reward, and expressed hope that the campaign will help introduce The Painters to even more audiences around the world.
The ‘Korea in Motion’ campaign runs through November 30.
